2013 is getting some interest from schools in a variety of shapes and sizes.

What we hadn't anticipated was the number of people who would have - and share - their opinions on the best option for him. And naturally, these opinions often conflict while each having its own merit. Because he has various coaches - HS, travel, hitting, pitching, etc., and since the world is very small, they all know who is expressing interest and feel compelled to weigh in - usually unsolicited.

He even admitted today that it's easy to put the most weight on the most recent opinion/advice you hear. We just keep saying to be patient and as things fall into place he'll see the best fit for HIM.

Just thought I'd share for those who may be feeling the same way, or will be soon. Caught us off guard.

Easy way to avoid this...just like not sharing what you plan to name your next child...stop talking about it yourself! Big Grin

My younger son made his commitment 1 game into his Junior season...and the only ones who knew were us and his HS head coach. Played the entire season without anyone else knowing...thus taking it off the table as a point of discussion for anyone.

To be honest with you, a HS player's family going through this the first time will never know what they don't know. When someone expresses a negative opinion about a program its important to know/recognize whether or not they are really in a position to know anything in depth about the program and wheter or/not they have an axe to grind. The same is true of someone with a positive opinion. Having said that, its a big mistake to blow off someone that really knows a program.
