I've read all the responses and written in the forum about brothers playing together. I've also read all abouth freshman on varsity, etc, etc.

This Thursday 3/28 the school I coach at will play against the team both my boys are on. talk about odd. Standing in the opposing dugout or in the coaches box with them on the other side.. boxing

Now, hopefully I'm not put in the position of calling pitches. Good thing it's only a scrimage. I'd really be in a tough spot..

Anyone have any experience here or a funny story..

Coach Merc,
This reminds me of teh Bowden family trials and tribulations when FSU plays Clemson (football), father vs son.
Mom sits on FSU side and supports husband.

I suggest you ask to be relieved of your duties this game. You could have two boys and one mom not happy with you if you should win. Big Grin

Wow, that really IS a dilemma. You'll have to let us all know how it turns out Smile

Not quite the same, but one time I had one son pitching and another son on the other team. It was the first time they had ever faced each other. I didn't know what to hope for. The first at-bat, pitching son got to a 0-2 count, then batting son hit a fly ball that was caught, but drove in a run. I figured it was a win-win (or maybe a lose-lose, but at any rate, it came out sort of even!).
I say play hard and play to win. I have been playing chess with my sons since they were old enough to move the pieces. My son in college has beaten me once and will never let me forget that game. My son in high school has not beaten me yet. They both still love to play because they know the competition is honest. Between a father and his sons, honesty is much more important then who wins. duel

Btw, I’m not that great a chess player. I win because I taught them everything they know about chess, I just didn’t teach them everything I know. I keep wondering when they are going to read a chess book or two and whip me. Big Grin
