I have worked this camp/showcase....usually multiple JC coaches and a few 4 yr coaches attend/work the camp. All of the assistant coaches worked the camp. The head coach made appearances throughout the camp. I believe it was a worthwhile camp.

Hardline, thanks for the info. The program sounds like it's on the up and up. Could you tell me approx. how many kids were at the showcase you worked? My son attended one last month with 130+ participants, and it was about 40 too many to ensure adequate exposure for all.

I want to say there were around 60 - 80 kids. I thought it was well ran and each kid had plenty of feedback from the coaches. I can tell you that there were a bunch of prospects at this camp.

it is good camp and worht the time I have taken players from my fall team too it and have watched it. It would be good choice for your son

Okay, my son also received the contact regarding this showcase and I also have questions. Seems like if each school made contact to invite player to participate then you could be out lots of $$$$. So, those of you with experience, would you recommend that that smart choice would be to select a couple to narrow the costs? I have to say (being new to this process) I was surprised to see the cost of the showcase. Program contact spoke to son who didn't know to ask questions regarding cost and who would be running the camp but just mentioned website for details. So, I was surprised to see the cost. Hypothetically speaking, colleges could use these as a nice fund raiser? Not trying to start a big debate - I was just surprised. Advise here from those that have been at this point before?

We also received the phone call inviting son to camp. Sounds more and more like it may be only for the money! Wonder how many phone calls were made and how seriously the players would be considered for a spot on the team next year???

Don't get me wrong, these schools are going to make some money on these showcases, but if a kid can play...it is a great place to get noticed by college coaches. I've recruited kids that maybe I've never heard of because I saw them at a showcase/camp.

how much is it? my son is doing a 2 day prospect camp at a DI school. Cost is 100.00

Is this showcase listed in the OSU athletics site?I check there often,but rarely see anything until early spring
