Old Dominion Baseball Opens this Friday

ODU opens this weekend against Rutgers... last year's Big East Champion.

ODU has a strong group of local players with Dan Hudson (Princess Anne), Anthony Shawler (Oscar Smith) and Dexter Carter (Greenbrier Christian) contributing to the Monarch pictching staff. Other positions are filled by local kids including Chris Keenan (Great Bridge), John Malbon (Cox), Jake McAloose (Princess Anne), Chris Baker (Deep Creek) and Robbie Watkins (Menchville).

Come on out 3pm Friday (weather permitting) and 1pm Sat and Sunday. Get you a baseball fix and support our local kids. ODU is the pre season top rated team in the Colonial Athletic Association and Baseball America has the Monarchs ranked at 25th in the nation on their pre season poll.

Just got my Baseball America and saw where ODU got ranked 25th in the preseason poll!

Rain has pushed back the ODU vs Rutgers games until 12pm Sunday. They hope to get in two 9 inning games.
