I've noticed a bunch of New Members lately. With the coming high school baseball season it's nice to see so many checking out the hsbaseballweb. Even better to notice that they are logging on to participate on the top baseball website in America. To be sure, the Illinois Forum isn't easy to "cut your teeth" on. In a recent converstation with a new member they pointed out that their journey is just beginning and that often their viewpoint might be viewed as "Old News" by some of us "Old Timers." I'd like to ask that we all keep in mind that once we were all New Members and make those new to site feel welcome. They have much to learn but they also have much to contribute. For all of you new members, you have a valuable resource here at the fingertips. Some of these posters have been through the whole process from T-Ball to College to ... I'm certainly glad that I can draw from their experiences since my girl will enter HS soon. Thanks to all of you in the Illinois Forum that make this site special!

As a still somewhat new member (at least in terms of posting), thanks very much for your kind comments. As a Father of two baseball loving sons coming up through the system, we've found this website to be almost too good to be true...what a wealth of information all of you combined bring to the table!
I especially thank you for allowing me and a few other down-staters to participate in Illinois forum. Obviously we don't have near the numbers, but most of you seem to respect and accept fact there are some quality players/teams/programs downstate...Thanks.

soxnole, thanks for the chuckle! I have a buddy that is a Cubs fan. Yesterday, his son was in our hitting camp and so he work his Cubs uniform. He kept saying, "You guys stood pat (Cardinals) and we're improved. We're going all the way because this is the year!" At the end I was giving him some grief and and he said that this is his most favorite part of the year. You know, "When hope springs eternal!" LOL!
