Well my Jays picked up Eckstein so they now have a lead off hitter, but in the same move that forced Johnny Mac back to the bench which is too bad I'd love to watch him play a full season and see how many high light reel plays he would of made.
Other then that it's been really quiet. Looks like they'll finish 3rd again.....

My fav team traded their two best players.
Considering all of what's going on, I am going to turn my MLB interest to milb interest this year, with the hopes of going to games and watching young players that might someday be the MLB players of tomorrow who will bring back the integrity to the game of baseball.

TPM, sorry but your favorite team traded those 2 to my favorite team. we'll see if it pays off around late September!
I have never been a MLB guy. I would rather watch college and some of the not os senior senior leagues we have here.

My AL team, Red Sox have done what I like---stand pat --let their young players develop
My NL team the Mets need one more arm and I think that will happen without giving up their young talent

It would have been nice for the Sox to get Santana. But not for Ellsbury. I wouldn't have minded one of the two pitchers and any other set of prospects in the system. However, a large seven year contract for a pitcher is a huge risk. Then the Sox would have to give Beckett the same size contract.
Sometimes a team can afford a particular player, but the big money throws the long term contract structure of the team out of whack or ticks off players when they can't get the same.
Not that I'm a Phillies or Astros fan, but even Ed Wade can acquire players when he's not working for cheap ownership.

WELL my 0's have done squat but trade tejada for prospects in return. and it looks like b-rob and bedard could be on the next flight outta here. We are going to be a young team,very young and build back up again and wouldnt be surprised if we finish in the basement,Nothing big is going to happen until we start winning and the owner leaves.But ive liked the tigers since they made that run 2 years ago and picking up 2 players i lke from the marlins,IM gonna be rooting for them
