Seven 2010 players on the roster of 21 have committed to Division 1 programs. Two others are going to the DIII national champions.

No, it's not my son's baseball team. It's the school's girls' lacrosse team. Eek

Now, for the baseball parallel-
Yes, they are all multi-year starters.
Yes, they all played on travel teams.
Yes, they all went to college camps and showcases.
Yes, they are all excellent students.
Yes, they are all very good players.

That's fantastic Antz, congratulations to the girls!

We had something similar with one of our local high schools last year. Eight of the seniors on Jesuit HS's (Sacramento) baseball team are now playing D1 baseball as freshman, as follows:
Andrew Susac, C, Oregon State
Brock Simon, RHP, Santa Clara
Alex Plog, RHP, Air Force
Martin Agosta, RHP, St. Mary's
Danny Hayes, Oregon State
Stephen Ostapeck, RHP, Villanova
Chris Piwinski, C/OF, Yale
Jimmy Bosco, OF, Cal

I'd never seen this before, and never thought I would again, but your girls just pulled it off.

Can you post their names and schools? I always think it is great to give deserving student athletes credit where they've earned it.
This is interesting because there was a local LaCrosse coach in nearby Chattanooga about a year ago who made some very strong statements in the newspaper.
He said, if you gave him the undersized football player or typical baseball player with decent speed, he could guarantee him a college scholarship in LaCrosse. (I'm paraphrasing as I don't recall his exact quote.) But, the statement was clear and had numerous people in the area seriously considering switching to that sport.

Personally, anyone changing sports for that reason would be guilty of "chasing". My son and I have already figured out the best way to get college paid for is through academics... So, his choice, but I'm hoping he stays with baseball.
Here ya go, catcherdad:

DI
Courtney Campbell- Richmond
Alyssa Dunlap- Vanderbilt
Andrea Feldman- Bucknell
Kelyn Freedman (superstar)- Georgetown
Allison Heath- Monmouth
Ellie Kraus- Vanderbilt
Allie Martin- Penn

DIII
Amalia Antonopolis Franklin & Marshall
and there's one more going to F&M.

Phila Area Girls

Brian, that coach might not be far off. Decent coordination and speed go a long way in lacrosse. I've seen D3 coaches grab athletic kids walking around campus, put a stick in their hands, and turn them into decent players in a matter of months.
