One week until we finally get to play a game! It's always exciting when you get to play a real game! New uniforms, shoes, bigger, stronger, and faster bodies!
I'm not sure who's more excited, me or jr! Hope we have playable weather, last year this tourney was SO cold.

Any updates on how your season is going so far?

bkecks - not much to follow on our end. We lost our first 2 in an ugly way. Then won our first play-off game....finally started swinging that thing in their hands. But as IB said, we got rained out yesterday. Got to see my buddy IB and his suddenly much taller son!!!

I guess since it was our first time on the field, we shouldn't complain too much but I did expect much better results! My son did relatively well in his first outing. From the mound he pitched 4 or 5 innings, 6 or 7 K's, 3 or 4 BB's. From the plate, he could've done better. His first AB was an outside pitch he went with for an opposite field single. Otherwise he K'd twice (one was actually a BB but then the coach appealed to the 1st base ump who said he swung - bad call...no biggie), several other BBs, one HBP and a couple ground-outs.

All in all it was a major rust shaker and gives them plenty to work on!!!
My sons team won their 1st tourney of the year in Cincy this weekend going 5-0. He fared pretty well, double on his 1st or 2nd AB of the year over the RF head. Capped the weekend by hitting a HR close to 320' and 1 that JUST missed the left field foul pole. The team in general performed well by completing the tourney finals by beating a much improved Cincy Flames team 7-5. The next tourney will be in the Battle in the South in May!
