A lot of modern fans have kind of forgotten or overlooked Stan Musial. If you read anything from the mid 40's to the late 50's and every NL player seemed to worship him as a player and a person. Just look at his seasonal double and triple totals and you'll realize, he was one guy who left the box on a dead run. A great example for some modern guys!
Few people know that, before injuring his arm late in the 1940 (minor league) season, Musial was on track to be a major league pitcher.

During 113 games at Daytona Beach, he compiled an 18–5 pitching record and still managed to hit .311 playing the outfield on off-days.

He joined the Cardinals the next season.

Career : 475 HR (28th), .331 BA (32nd), 1951 RBI (6th) – No Steroids
