NFHS Rule 3-3-1d: Players participating in the game may not wear jewelry.A player may wear a medical alert necklace or a religous medal, such items are not to be considered jewelry. But the medical alert device must be securely taped to the players body and
may be visible. Any religous medal must be taped to the body as well and worn
under the uniform.
Penalty....warning then ejection in non compliant..
Phiten necklaces are considered Jewelry....the umpire was correct in having you remove them...
