And you surely can follow up with an email to give further information than what is required on the form.

Going back a few years ago...after filling out a few of these it was clear then that no one was reading them...the websites at that time even gave you a notification if it was read and I never saw a notification come back. Never.

Maybe its changed, but if I were you, I'd still send a paper-mail expressing your interest to the schools you'd like to attend.

You'll get mixed responses from the online profiles. Some go right to the baseball coach and some get routed through a general athletic office. I still suggest the paper mail route as the most effective contact method. But since the online is so easy, never hurts to do both. Good Luck!

I would think that this would put your information into their data base and you may start to receive mails from them for things like camps and other emails announcements from the school. At least they will have your contact information similar that they get from showcases or tournaments where they purchase the contact information.

You need to follow up and give them a reason to continue to look at the prospective player.

We have had some good luck with sending e-mails directly to the coaches. Their e-mail contacts are always given on the site. My son sent out about ten personalized e-mails, and heard back from three coaches directly. It does work!
