It’s Opening Late Night in New England. Game time is 10:10pm. I’ll pass. Seven of the first ten games are late night. If the Sox have a losing record on their ten game road trip interest could be over by the home opener. Interest is quite low as it is due to owner indifference to the success of the team.

No team should start with a ten game road trip. It’s not that cold in Boston. It’s not as if there’s snow on the ground.

Move to Hawaii, Boston Bro! The latest game time start is 4:10 pm. You can watch the game on  my HD TV for the price of a  Sam Adams, do your pre-bedtime stretch mid- 7th inning, and change into your pjs to watch the rest of the game from your Barcalounger.  Fall asleep right there by 8 at the latest. You'll get all the beauty sleep you need.  And there is never snow on the ground, at least at the lower elevations.

It isn't so much about the time, as much as the (lack of) buzz of the team.  There's no off-season big free agent signing.   If the front office is not interested in making their team better this year, then I'll catch up with them at a later time.  I have better things to do.  "Full Throttle" is what the Red Sox fans are going to do to the front office if things don't improve.

Opening Day is competing for our attention with many other sporting events during this time of year.  I watched the Miami Open tennis tournament last night instead of MLB baseball.  The Red Sox have me absolutely disinterested in pro baseball at the moment.  This is a new feeling for me.  I'll probably watch more tennis tonight and catch some of the NCAA basketball games.  The Red Sox are in the corner in "time out" like a petulant two-year old.

There were four tournament basketball games to watch last night. I’ll be at the home opener because it will be free. A friend rents a box. Temperature won’t matter. If the Sox suck there will still be lobster rolls, chicken wings, cheese steaks and beer.
