Opening Day-Pirates!

Zach gets the win!! and the Bucs are still in first....

Seriously, I think the Pirates are slowly turning some things around for the good. McCutchen, Garret Jones, Alvarez, and Milledge with new guidance and a new attitude as well as Duke, Ohlendorf and others lead me to look for some improvement. They are young and need these young guys to mature in a hurry.

YES!!! That just about makes Opening Day for me, right there. Now if the Twins win, it will be perfect.

Way to go, Zach!!!

I got off work early and went to the local place that has the MLB package and lots of big screens, lots of cars outside and thought wow, this is great lots of us playing hookie (or taking off a bit early from work) for opening day.

Only to find out they were CLOSED!

Owner was in doing some cleaning, said things were slow so he wasn't opening for lunch anymore. Cars in the lot were for a dif business and construction going on.

Had my #57 Duke jersey on, explained my plight about not being able to get the game local. He said come on in, turned on the games!

Planning to go see Zach in Atlanta this year!

I took off work and went to the game. Tailgated in the lot between Heinz & PNC from 9:30 - 1:30, then Soho after the game. Feeling pretty rough the next day.

I think the Buccos will be terrible until Alvarez, Tabata, & Lincoln arrive in July. LaRoche isn't cutting it at 3B (he would be better as a utility IF'er), and our starting pitching currently is average at best. I do think we have a good bullpen though.

What would you do when Tabata comes up? I think Milledge will be the odd man out and Tabata will take his place in LF, unless Clement doesn't hit, then G. Jones moves to 1B and Tabata to RF.

Buccos 2-0, and on pace to go undefeated. Look out 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings! Garret Jones is also on pace to hit 243 HR's.

We're watching Zach go for his third straight win right now. So far so good. Zach has pitched 5 shutout innings, with the Pirates leading 3-zip.

7-5 after sweeping the Reds. Not bad. The last time we won back to back home series was 1992!
