Hustle, hustle, and then hustle some more. Make sure he pays attention to the instructions the players are given and is ready when it is his turn. Make sure he watches the other players as they go through their position workouts to see what to do and what not to do. Within reason, the talent is what it is and if it doesn't show through this time it will the next. However, within the group of players who have similar talent as him the extra hustle and desire will help him get noticed.

When PG does their report on the players they put things in there noting extra hustle and things like that. It isn't always obvious as they tend to do it in "scoutspeak" at times. They'll also sometimes note less than normal hustle in a way that scouts tend to understand without being real obvious about it.

Observations from first event...VERY WELL organized. For some kids, having some more BP time could have helped considering in the end during actual game situation you only get 5 AB during 2 10 inning games (and I am not referring to my kid, he had a great BP session). A great way to connect and meet new people that may have been around the block by talking with the parents in the crowd.
All in all, very pleased with how my son responded and how the event was conducted.
