about 15 seconds into the video we see the runner run past the fielder who appears to be looking towards third/home while moving the ball to his throwing hand.

Umps gathered and met about the call and eventually called him out.

it looks as though there was really no play on runner until the runner has passed the fielder.   While he is looking at home to check the runner and no play on the runner so no baseline is established.

I thought it was a correct call of safe.

Had a very similar call about two weeks ago......I stayed with the safe call at third.

I think I would have stayed with the call made on the field (safe),  The umpire was right where he was supposed to be and had a good angle.  We usually use the "step and a reach" to determine out of the base path.  The fielder did not step and barely reached because he turned his eyes away from the runner.  I am a little surprised the crew overturned the call on the field.  This would have been an easy one to stay with.

One more thing, if you look closely, you will see that the rather weak tag attempt when the runner was almost past the fielder was made with an empty glove.  The ball was in the fielders bare hand. I don't think that has a bearing on the OOBP ruling, but I think it would have been even easier to explain the call to the Mgr. and why they should have stayed with the call on the field.
