Wouldn’t it be nice if MLB would deign to put in a definition or clarification of what a “continuous play” was, like they did for “ordinary effort”?
The other day I was watching a game on the tube and saw a play I’d never seen before. A liner off the pitcher’s leg went across the foul line in front of the bag. F3 crossed the line, and about 10’ on the other side, scooped the ball backward with his glove, back towards 1st, where the pitcher caught it in time to tag the runner who was trying to avoid a collision, for a 1-3-1 play. Cool stuff like that is always fun to watch.
