I know this probably should be posted in the fielding section but I think it will get more looks here.

My son plays on a 13u travel team...pitches, catches ,and outfield.

He currently has a 11.5 Rawlings HOH dual core for pitching and really likes the Rawlings gloves, so before the start of the season we bought a 12.75 Rawlings Trapeze web outfielders glove.

He did not like the web style I guess, and it seemed like it was big to me. Right now he is using an old Wilson A500 12.5 closed web glove, and has had very good success with it.

I know we will be on the hunt again after the season, so I would like some opinions on brand, size and type of web that would be best for outfielders.....any help would be appreciated.

Is it that he likes the feel of the Wilson glove, or that it has a closed web? Typically outfield gloves use an open web to keep the weight down. The last thing an outfielder wants is a glove weighing them down when tracking balls down.

If it is the feel of the glove, I would suggest staying with the Wilson and upgrading to an A2000. My son has one and likes it well.

If it is the closed web he likes, then there are several makes and models to choose from. He just has to find the one that suits him.

Good luck with the glove search.
