I am a junior in highschool in Toronto, Canada playing travel baseball for the Ontario Prospects and I had a few questions.
Is 6'0 160lbs as a centerfielder as a junior in highschool big enough to get looked at by d1's?

Is 6.9 a good enough 60 time for a junior?

Is 84-86mph as a junior from center good enough?

Do college coaches even look at centerfielders that much?

My son is an outfielder. He has played in many showcases and tourneys. He runs 6.7-6.8 consistantly, he is 6'0 175 . Yes you are framed for D1 . If you can hit and be accurate with your throws, have good enough grades you have great potential. But be ready to pay to go to the school because unless you are a bomber the D1's don't give alot of scholarship monies to outfielders. IMO Hit the weight room and the batting cages and follow your dream!!!Good luck to you!!
As asallan pointed out it really depends on how you hit and I might add how you run the bases.

The CF'r from my sons team last year is now at a major D1 fighting for a back up OF slot on the traveling squad. (all current OF'r are Seniors)

He had about your speed, I think about 82-83 throws, (however he was very very accurate) and could hit. He was our leadoff hitter, and got very good jumps, I think he had around 15 SB last year.

He was about 5'10" and I guess 170ish. So it sounds like you are right in there it just depends on how you play. I forgot to add he was an outstanding student, I belive he got 25% athletic $$ and another 15-20% academic.

My Son is a Freshman OF at a D1 school. He is currently 6' 2", 185 and runs a 6.8.
As a Junior, he was 6'1" and maybe 160.
He runs a 6.8 now, but back then was running 7.0-7.1, with an occasional 6.9 on a fast track.
His OF throws were 88 with a 90 once in a while, and is still right around there, but much more accurate.

Regarding scholarships: The one he accepted was 43%, and it was the lowest of the 5 he got from D1's. Highest was 55%.
From what I've heard, OF offers are lower now because of the new condensed schedule and the need for more pitchers?

CF is the place to be. Most OF's in college were CF's in High School, it seems?
I would encourage you to work on the weights, drink legal protein shakes, eat right and play against the best competition you can, including some PG tournaments and showcases.

Good Luck, eh? (My Dad lived in Barrie years ago, right on Lake Simcoe. Lovely place!)

My son, an outfielder, was 5-9/150 lbs coming out of HS---he signed with a major Division I program--red-shirted his frosh year and started the next 4--he had great speed, adequate arm but a superb bat--he also was a great bunter and superb base runner.

He graduated at 5-10/195 lbs with less than 5% body fat

How is your bat?
Actually the 84-86 velocity is not that bad considering you are a Junior. Just make sure you're doing good crow hops with all your movement going toward the direction you're throwing and not off to the side. Would be nice if you could get that speed down to 6.7 or less for centerfield but for some guys that run great routes and have great instincts they can get away with a little less speed.
