Practice has been outside the past 2 days... not on the infield of course... but still. Can't ask for anything more than outside practice in january! Hopefully this doesn't mean we have a re-freeze in march!

So even if you're in high school (or your son is) and can't practice with your team yet... stop wasting the day away on this website and get outside and throw a ball around.

Practicing indoors in the cold winter months, may not be as productive as the warm weather states being able to go outside consistently. Although, you can still work on your game, and keep your arm strong all winter long by a good workout indoor schedule. If it's important to improve year round, that can be accomplished in any state you live in if you want it bad enough.
I disagree as far as the cold weather making you tougher, I think all it does asfar as game time is increase the risk of injury, ankle, acl, and arm. On the other hand I have always liked the idea of having the winter time to improve. In the warm weather states it is nice to be outside, but you worry about game time too soon. Here in cold Illinois you have a nice long winter to work on improving your hitting and pitching mechanics, arm and bat speed, infield work. We must have 4 full astro turfed in fields here in the chicago area to work on. Strength and speed and agility. There is no reason a player can't make huge improvements over the winter. Great hitting, pitching and fielding coaches along with speed and agility many whom have been named on this sight. Yes I would love to live in arizona at times, but if you want to improve your game over the winter there is no excuse here in Illinois.
