Over Night Official Visits

I believe you only get 5 from D1 schools so be aware. Make sure you save some for your drem schools if they seem interested.

Here's the types of things my sons experienced.

Football games, tailgate, breakfast/lunch/dinner with the coach(es), watch practice, attend some classes with players, 1-on-1 meetings with coach(es), Q&A with players.

How does that change things? I thought visits your senior year were "official" if you went to up to 5 schools. And how does D-1 differ from D-2. I guess I will add D-3 into the mix even though it doesnt pertain to my son.

Agree, Junior was taken to a football game , fed for the weekend , they put me up in a 5 star hotel met the team , coaches and staff . Good Time .

Visits are official if the school pays for them. They are unofficial if the athlete/athlete's family pays for them

Mizzoubaseball, in addition to the answer Green Light provided, here's a bit of additional info.

A Div. I school can only provide up to 3 complimentary admissions for an on-campus sports event during an unofficial visit.

Div. II schools can provide 3 comp admissions, as well as one meal at an on-campus dining facility (off-campus is the campus facility is closed).

Div. III can provide more than 3 comp admissions, as well as one meal as described above.

FYI - In addition, you must have registered with the NCAA clearinghouse and be able to provide transcripts for D1 official visits.
