Bayside and Landstown tried to get one in. In the top of the third after the lead-off batter walked the game was called. There as intermitent rain throughout the first couple innings, but the last down-pour in the top of the third made the field unsafe. Naturally, the skies opened with the sun shinning and blue skies after the 5 minute deluge.

Landstown was up 2-0 on a clutch 2 out 2rbi single by Julious Scott.

Davis (I believe) was pitching for the Marlins while Lawhorn was throwing for the Eagles. Tough conditions to pitch in......or hit.
Ocean Lakes and Green Run were also washed out. We will play tomorrow pending conditions. I was pitching for OL and #1 was on the bump for Green Run. Pat Hall had a 2 run jack in the top of 1 then in the bottom of 1 with no outs the game was called. the socred stood at Ol-2 GR-0.

Another thing, on Friday OL and THS will not play due to a memorial service for a teacher who passed away. We will play the game then instead on Saturday.
Cox slipped by FC yesterday for their 1st district win by scoring 2 in the top of the 7th. There was a FC player (pinch runner for Blake Boyce) that appeared to suffer a serious injury in a collision at the plate in the 6th inning. Anyone have any updates on his condition?

Boxscore and highlight from Hamptonroads.com:

Cox 5, First Colonial 4
Cox 011 010 2 — 5 8 3
First Colonial 100 111 0 — 4 7 4
W—Mattes (1-2). L—Gayhart (0-2).

Kyle Profilet’s two-out bunt scored Ryan Muncy from third with the game-winning run as Cox improved to 2-7 overall. Drew Wilkinson also paced the Falcons with two hits, two stolen bases and an RBI.
