I'm sure the games yesterday were cold, so was the stiff wind out of the north at PA field. Frown

PA won in the 7th 3-2. PA took an early 1-0 lead. In I believe the 3rd KHS went ahead 2-1. PA soon tied the score at 2-2. In the bottom of the 7th, Chris Dean's reach on a SS error, then he advanced on a WP or PB to 2B. No outs at this time. Alex Owens took a BB's. Then there was a K then another WP and runner advance to 3rd and 2B. Beamer Weems up. The outfield in so they can throw the runner out on a tag up. The infield in as well. Beamer, with 2 strikes hits a game winning single to the diving, out stretch arms of the second baseman. Game over.

Sorry I don't know the Kempsville players who pitched, etc. Their first pitcher seemed to do a very nice job. The big fella who relieved also did a nice job in previous inning.

Daniel Hudson I believe start and did a nice job. Brandon Hendrix pitched the last 3 innings and shut KHS down. I believe he got the win.

Maybe some KHS folks can give some pitchers names. Tough season opener, but a fun game.

Ramirez is a good pitcher and he is at a school where the COACH is not afraid to play underclassmen, also they lost some pitching this year to transfers that could have helped them. You’re correct if he stays health he should go far. PA is predicted to finish in the top 3 but it comes down to hitting, and if they had trouble against a freshman than there are in trouble when they faced someone like Walker from Cox. This season could be up for grabs take the Cox vs Bayside came. I think everybody was surprised with the final score.
