1st time post/ long time lurker! My son in his last three pitching starts has expierenced a pain in lower back that gets worse the more pitches he throws. Trainer has indicated that his straight up pitching motion after he delivers the ball is the reason why, and has indicated that the pain will continue as long as he continues to throw this way. His back does not bother him at his other positions, nor when he is at bat. Just curious if anyone else has dealt with this and what the outcome was?

2007 season I pitched in pain all year. I always thought it was something to do with my scapular muscles, thought maybe I had strained them in some way and the pain would eventually go away. After finishing the 2007 HS and summer season I decided to get it checked out by my doctor because the pain never went away. I went to my doctor and he sends to an oncologist. after many tests and MRI they still didn't know what was going on. So on August 27 the first day of my senior year of HS I was having sugury to have a Elastofibroma tumor removed from my scapula. Now I pitch pain free! Not trying to scare anyone but if the pain doesn't go away you might want to get it checked out.
