Lynnhaven Baseball has won the Pony Baseball South Region, going 3-0 in Greensboro over the weekend:

Saturday 12-5- W- Sean Ray
Sunday 11-1- W- Daniel Hudson
Monday 14-1- W- Zach Woods

Homeruns: Lee Turner, Daniel Hudson

They will move on to the Zone tournament, also in Greensboro, starting on Saturday.

Did they pick up any players or no?

I did pick up one player after the first tournament, Ian Lenda from Great Bridge.

The kids did a great job over the weekend, giving up only one earned run. I'm proud of them and look forward to this upcoming weekend.

I guess I'm getting old what is palomino baseball? Is it a league?

Palomino Baseball is a league (17-18 year olds) within Pony Baseball Organization.....like Seniors in Little League. Its played all over the World from ages 5-18.......with a World Series at the end for ages 9-18....this year the World Series for Palomino Baseball is in Puerto Rico.

I remember Pony league when i was a kid but hadn't heard of it since and that's along time. Is it popular at the Beach?

Seems like there was no competition for your team---are you that good or are the other teams just pretty bad. Will you have more competition this weekend? Where do you go if you win this tournament?

If you look at the 3 kids who were the winning pitchers (Ray, Hudson & Woods), it would be safe to say they are as good as anyone in that department.

It was a combination of both.....After the first two innings in the first game, our team played very well. The teams that were in the tournament last weekend where from Greensboro and Maryland......The region tournament covered South Carolina, East TN, Maryland, Delaware. I will tell you this, so far, DEEP CREEK has been our strongest competition.

This weekend in the Zone, it covers the whole east coast up from South Carolina to Ohio.....The other Region winners were: West - East Pittsburth; North - Long Island, NY; and Lynnhaven won the South Region. There will be two strong teams from Greensboro.....one just finished third in the NABF World Series (17u) Tournament. The other finished 6th or 7th out of 60 some teams I believe.

Pony baseball is very big in this area - The leagues are: Churchland, Western Branch, Deep Creek, Indian River, Greenbriar, Southern Chesapeake, South Norfolk, Little Creek National, Little Creek American, Great Neck, Kempsville, and Lynnhaven.

SCAA just one their first game in the Pony (13-14) Zone Tournament.

The only thing set for us is Saturday, at 1pm against the Guilford Patriots....if we win, we play on Monday; if we lose, we play again on Sunday, but I do not know the time until Friday night's coaches meeting.

Take 85 south to Greensboro
Take 85/40 to Lee Street Exit
Take Lee Street - follow DETOUR SIGN TO HWY 29 NORTH

When you get on 29 North take the SECOND CONE BLVD EXIT.

Take CONE BLVD to BATTLEGROUND AVENUE - TURN RIGHT.

Take BATTLEGROUND AVENUE to PISCAH CHURCH - TURN RIGHT....(there will be a Lowes on your left)

As soon as you turn right, FOREST LAWN DRIVE WILL BE ON YOUR LEFT HAND SIDE - Follow it all the way back until you get to the baseball park.
