Geoff hitting .080 does not mean that you dont have the tools at the plate to be a good hitter. I know a kid at a local D-1 program that was .082 half way through the season and now he is .290. It sounds like to me you just need to learn how to relax at the plate. You are probaly pressing and you are aware that you are hitting .080 and it is on your mind no doubt. Forget about your average and forget about failure. Think positive thoughts and just relax and hit. You are thinking too much and it is working against you. Look in one spot on the first pitch and if it is not there take the pitch. Even if its a strike. See a couple if you have to. Relax and you will be fine. Good Luck to you.
What your average is is what you're hitting now. Say, over your last 10 or 15 at bats.

In other words, forget about the overall average. Straighten yourself out and then, when you come up to bat, what are you?

The .080 hitter? Or the one who is 3 or 4 for his last 10???? I believe you are what you are lately, not the overall average.

If a .333 hitter comes to the plate but he's 0 for his last 12......is he a better hitter than they guy who comes to bat that is 4 for his last 8 but his average is .275??????
