I know that the Patriot League like the Ivies do not offer baseball scholarships. However besides
Army and Navy does the other schools; Bucknell, Lehigh, Lafayette, and Holy Cross offer official visits and do players sign an NLI like other D1's? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know we signed a letter described as an NLI.Perhaps it was because academic money was involved. I think it had more to do with playing at a D1 and the obligations or rules required by the NCAA.

It was 4 years ago and I can barely remember what I had for breakfast but in this case I am pretty positive it was an NLI.

The service acadamies do not participate in NLI and because of the extremely lengthy admissions process, are granted special permissions with regard to recruiting, i.e. they can talk to/call recruits in their junior year.

This is also the reason that some schools came to my son with offers after the MLB draft, even though he had verballed to West Point. He was not technically off limits, as the signing of an NLI would make him.
