PBR 2008 Showcase

anyone stand out or any new kids on the block?

They were all great ... but I think few will dispute that SOME of the standouts were:
LHP Danny Jimenez from St. Charles North, who sat at 87-88 and touched 89.

Catcher Dominick D'Agata from Schaumburg, who was a sub-2 pop on some throws and hit very well.

OF Luis Diaz from Von Steuben, who showed an impressive outfield arm to go along with his big power at the plate.

SS-RHP John Lorenz from Lincoln-Way East, who's a top-level athlete, smooth at short and tough on the mound.

LHP Mike Derby and OF Michael Selvaggi, both from Bartlett.

St. Charles North has a bunch a very impressive '08 players. They will be tough to beat in a year.

Dont forget about Sam Weinberg. He is small but very athletic. This was his first day back from a wrist injury that sidelined him for his whole soph/varsity season. He ranked #1 at USBA and White Sox exposure camp; throwing 87-89mph off mound and 93mph from outfield

I had wrote about this kid in the Public League Bullentin, and i saw this 2008 showcase one and i KNOW this kid has to be on here. He's a Junior ShortStop for Steinmetz High School, William Alvarez, that boy is a STUD!
