Prairiegraveler27,

I think your assesment of Casey is right on. He is the best position player I've seen and he was a 5 tool player when he was 15. That being said, he is the second ranked postion player behind Jake Smolinski. With the emphasis put on the pitchers, that's not a bad place to be. I look forward to watching both Casey and Pete Cappetta bring their skills to U of I along with Nick C.
i also played with pete, i once watched him hit 4 hr's in a doubleheader over at mccook field, which is pretty big when your 14 yrs old...im sure that he will fill every expectation they have of him and even beyond that...as for nick c., i remember being 15 and in the semifinals of the state tournament and he pitched against us and was just throwing absolute chedda', from wat i hear hes at 94 so thats just a lil bit harder lol...good luck to nick and my gravel boys, petey and caseymac, at u of i and may the baseball gods be with them
Capetta is a heck of a player. He has always performed well when we played him. He is a great kid too. We wish him well at U of I.

In response however to prairiegravler 27 he doesnt' throw 94, more like the low 80's. He has excellent command of his pitches and has a great presence.

I'm sure he projects more as an outfielder at U of I where he will have a terrific career.

I thought I was going to get a chance to see Crosby and Flanagan pitch this fall, but I never was able to be in the right place at the right time. I did, however, see Mr. Zawacki a couple of times and, if anyone is better than that, all I can say is "WOW".

Everyone on the list is deserving and, on any given day, could be the top dog. But the hitter that would scare me the most (if I were on the mound) is McMurray.

Denisr, you're right. Deucedoc is one of the most knowledgeable pitching coaches around so I'm not surprised. I understand that he is going to start giving pitching lessons at Strikes.

There is plenty of talent in the 07 class...I can't wait for Spring!

You guys are right, a ton of 07 talent and some really good arms. I have had the pleasure of working with a handful of these guys and will continue to this Winter when they get it going again. Don't kid yourself, they were all good before I met them. Just a tweaker here and there with this bunch.

Mike F,
You heard correct, the boss man at Strikes told me either going to charge me addmission or had to go to work..
In fact, I hear this Sunday I have a 12 year old left handed Orland Spark with a nastey two seamer.lol...
Can't wait....
Fellow readers/posters,

This guy is way too modest. Anyone who has the opportunity to play for deucedoc and absorb some of the pitching knowledge in his brain and doesn't, is making a mistake. It IS all about the "tweaking" my friends, I've seen it for myself. My only hope is one of these guys he works with makes it big, and rains a little sugar on this man!
