Our 2017 was blessed with an invite to Prep Baseball Report's Future Games, recently held outside Indianapolis.  I cannot recommend it too highly.  Over 150 college scouts attended, including one or more reps from most of the majors, esp SEC, ACC, Big 10 etc.  The venue is very conducive to coaches scouting multiple games back to back, unlike LakePoint, where coaches are spread across the two hubs (assuming the game is even at LakePoint).  Most of the teams fielded highly touted prospects, a number of whom committed during or shortly after the event.

I know the boys also relished the opportunity to play alongside peers from other travel or school programs.  This sort of thing is all to rare.

Finally, the caliber of umpiring was outstanding, which was refreshing to say the least.

This event figures to grow and improve even further, as PBR expands to additional coverage areas.

Only 15-16 uncommitted players from each state/territory will have an opportunity to attend.  If your son is a talented rising sophomore, I encourage you to have him attend a local PBR event this fall or winter to get in their system. And if he is fortunate enough to be invited to the Future Games, make the investment and go!

And no, I do not work for PBR!

Phillymom,

I think this is their first go at an academic event, and it is a local one.  Is your boy ranked by PBR in your state?  If not, I suggest going to one of these events to get ranked, http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/pennsylvania/events.  Might elevate your 2016, if he is not committed already.  If you are interested in any specific academic schools, let me know.

I think of PBR as kind of a franchise. There was no PBR in Ohio until about 5 years ago. THat is when Valentine took over or started it. He also Founded the Prep Baseball Report Ohio in 2011 and have since gone on to own and operate franchises in Michigan, Ontario and the New England area.

They do an excellent job here in Ohio.

So some of your experience with PBR will be determined by who or what organization runs your state/regon.

My 2016 attended the event the summer of his soph. yr. too.  There were at least 100 scouts of some type there. I saw shirts from Wash. st.   air force and s carolina with just about everything inbetween. Myself I was impressed with the event. I would recommend anyone getting the invite to go to jump on it. Probably the best 50.00 dollars I ever spent.
