How well do coaches and scouts follow PBR showcases, MY son attended one this month and had some good numbers, I know they are linked with Top Tier in IL , my son doesn't play for that team.

I can speak for the Ohio PBR, but I do not have any experience with Ill. PBR has slowly become very strong in Ohio, especially Central Ohio.
My son's College is based in Central Ohio and recruited strongly from here and other parts of Ohio. We had a discussion once and PBR, is making it easier for Colleges in other part of the country to find talent. At the d3 level the D3's in this area used to kind of have this area, all to themselves. Now other colleges are cherry picking this area because of PBR.
The Buckeye Scout used to be the recruiting show case in Ohio. The man who ran the Buckeye scout has now teamed up with PBR and now the organization is even stronger. I know quite a few men at all levels from our area who attribute PBR showcases to help them be seen.
But you still need a plan. And in Ohio I would not blame someone if PBR was part of that plan.
My son did PBR IL two years ago and I was not impressed with them. The knock I hear about them is that unless you play for TT or spend lots of money attending multiple events you are ranked lower. The write up was decent and the video was good but unusable to us as he was too early in the process. I don't like the fact that in order to view your video or full write up you have to pay extra on top of the showcase fee.

Kid has yet to attend one of their events. Probably this summer. But I do agree with the comment about TT.
It got us off the ground. A lot of the interest my son has received came from his #2 state ranking on PBR. This was prior to his first PG event. It is, however, an organization that differs in quality from state to state. I know, for example they are VERY strong in Ohio and Indiana and have a better handle on the local talent in Colorado than even PG (at least in the younger classes). A lot of that is simply due to geography.
I believe that even though it is under one umbrella, PBR is run like a franchise. You buy the franchise for your state. If the guy who bought the franchise for you state is good then PBR is good. If not good luck.
Average players that go to lots of events get a lot of ink, and I always wonder why their rankings come out a few days after PG posts theirs......Hmmmm.
To an extent, it varies by state coverage area, with some more active than others. PBR VA/DC and PBR MD do a great job of identifying and profiling talent. Generally speaking, PBR scouts are close to the player pools in their coverage areas, see them regularly, and maintain good relationships with the local high school and travel coaches. When it comes to ranking talent in their coverage areas, they are very well-informed. We have been very pleased with their coverage and events.
I would add that families with sophomores should strongly consider doing a PBR event, in hopes of being selected to the Future Games. Held in the summer outside Indy, each PBR coverage area sends a team featuring the best rising juniors. The event was amazing, with qualitative exposure to over 100 programs, including all the majors.

PBR IL has had a Top Tier "TT" bias for players selected to their invite only events in the past, seems like it may be changing with how much they've grown in the state. PBR IL is a franchise and they did evolve out of TT offices & staff.
PBR is hosting even more showcases allowing regional kids to showcase their skills. For $199.00 they provide video and commentary, and for $99.00 annually you gain access to all player profiles within the PBR system. Typically you'll have an hour drive to where it's hosted; it's a lower cost way to get your "measurables" on the radar. Colleges and scouts subscribe to their data similar to PG.
PBR profiles seem to serve colleges looking for a closer look at players in their own "back yard". It's a similar opportunity for players to get looked at by regional colleges where they can play and stay closer to home.
Having said this, my son played for TT for two years, and was their best SS for his age group and the age group above. My son left TT for another team that was a better fit logistically. After leaving TT he has tried to secure invites to their invite only events through various instructors and scouts to no avail. For the most part, key position players for invites and team invites come from TT teams. There are exceptions, but this was our experience...

Funny how that works.
The Super 60 is a real event, you don't really care what PBR writes about you because the scouts and directors are sitting there watching it unfold. The last time I checked the writers wasn't doing the drafting.

oh!,, my son doesn't play for TT , but was asked too , and was invited, will seen what happens down the road.
I noticed the TT and high school affiliation bias soon after my son's first PBR event. We were initially soured when he requested an "invite only" event and was passed over by many players that we "had to go huh" ?? Looking into this and the players there, things all started to make sense. Trying a different approach, he and some teammates asked his HS coach to work with the PBR coordinator (who the coach supposedly knew) for "help" in being considered for an invite only 2017 summer event. Nope: Denied again! Not to be deterred, he participated in an open class pitcher only event where he was a 2017 that performed very well. When the write up came out, he was given a fair critique, but was listed by the Coordinator as an also ran. It was interesting that others in the "top performer" list were kids from that Coordinator's alma mater. The same thing happened when the initial 2017 rankings came out. Nonetheless, we were done with PBR and I will invest my money in a PG showcase.
BTW, speaking of 2017 rankings I know of a kid on the underclassman. area code games team (only 7 players from IL I believe) and another that committed to a major college powerhouse/mlb factory in the south. Both 2017s that are suspiciously low on their rankings. Neither are in the top 10 and neither play for TT.

They may have committed but I would bet it was for a walk on position, if they really are low in rankings.
College coaches must know what's going on right?

Nope pitcher has a pretty good deal. We are very good friends with the family and got the straight info on what he got.
Area code kid has yet to commit but does have several offers from decent schools. He is waiting until after this season to commit.
Speaks to PBR ILs bias towards kids from the Top Teir program. The same guy who owns the PBR franchise here also owns the TT program.
I was new to PBR IL , but I feel they are the next best thing to PG in our area !but We will be at PG in July for WWBA ,
weird thing is my son was ranked very high in PG rankings and he hasn't been to a PG event yet , I was told PG has foot soldiers on the floor at others events!! Thanks PG ����
