Any advice on the Junior games for an incoming 8th grader?   Skip it or not?  I know the Future Games are fantastic, just can't find much on the Junior version.

Player is a top talent kid.  I guess it would help set up rankings down the road.  I just don't see schools scouting the event because of the players ages. Recruiting has changed so much, I don't want to pass up something worthwhile.  Thoughts?

Walked down and watched a little a few years ago.  It was not recruited at all except one kid who was hitting tanks in bp.  When he came up, a few coaches walked down and watched, then left.  I think more of intrigue than recruiting.  He was also a beast of a young man but could not hit in a game.  I think it is a good experience and if you do good it will get you on the radar with your state PBR guy but not a done deal to get you on Futures Game list.

that confirms what I thought- nobody is seriously looking at 2024's this early. those schools who are looking at 2023/incoming freshmen FREAKS are probably seeing those studs playing up and getting seen by schools at older events.  I just don't think many schools will go to a 2023/2024 event looking for players.  the Future Games start a day later and LakePoint is compact, so maybe coaches at the Future Games will take a look at the Junior Future Games this year more than at Grand Park in the past?  but kid would have to really stand out.  I think he holds off this year and reevaluates it next year as an incoming freshman and see what the recruiting landscape looks like for younger players then.  recruiting has changed so much in the past few years.   it's crazy.
