The Dallas Patriots 17U Stout) went 3-0 in pool play allowing only 5 runs to garner the #6 seed out of 100 teams in Fort Myers, FL.

Between this tourney and 2 weeks ago at the Perfect Game Upperclass tourney in Tucson, AZ...the Dallas Patriots 17U Stout team has been seen by just about every major D1 program in the country...awesome! As a matter of fact, 2 of the kids from this 2011 team have already verbally committed to LSU. Great job guys!

Patriots lose in the quarters to the Orlando Scorpions Black...those boys hit the rock tonight. Great run for the Patriots though going 5-1. In addition to the Scorpions (FL), the other semifinalists are East Cobb Braves 17U, Florida Mustangs and Midland Braves/Royals Scout team combo.

As an aside, the Patriots beat the Midland Braves in pool play 4-2...actually beating the #7 pitching prospect in the country (95 mph throwing Dillon Howard) on Saturday morning. It was a great tourney with a ton of talent...a pleasure to watch.
We had a short staff for the tourney due to swine flu and some injuries. I don't want to take anythng away from the guys that pitched for us tonight...it was just one of those nights. They hit everything on the barrel and found gaps. I can tell you this...since the start of the summer season, the most runs this Patriots team has allowed in any one game (almost 100 games) has been 8. The Scorpions scored 10 in the 3rd. "Stuff" happens I guess.
