Wise with a great catch. especially under the circumstances.
How great was that performance? It will be interesting to see if one game, obviously amazing, can trigger higher level of performance by all for the next several weeks.

Without question, the greatest defensive play in the history of no-hit/perfect games...all things considered. And to think, that was his only play of the game.

They found your bat behind the Rookie's Club concession stand. It was slathered all over with peanut butter and grape jelly and it had several scorch marks on it. A little hooligan probably swiped it.

I heard the last 3 innings while I was in the car. Still had my heart pumping.
I saw a game that may have been pitched just as well. Llamar Hoyt pitched to 27 batters and only got to ball 3 once. The only hit was a wind blown pop up that Guillen would have had if Kittle didn't get in his way. Next batter hit in to a double play. No one came close to hitting the ball well.

I looked it up. It was May 2, 1984. Mattingly got the bllop single in the 7th inning and was out on a double play next batter. The play on the bloop would not have been close to as good as the play Wise made. That's baseball.
Woody - Thanks for findin' my muskey club... I must have lost it while rummaging through those pic-a-nic baskets I found behind the "kid's corner" in left field. I had to fight off Southpaw for the PB&Js...

I do remember the days when our young'uns would over indulge at the Rookie's Club...
...just like Daley's parking meters, we would load the machine with quarters at the Snappy© Car Wash on Archer and Halsted and make the peanut buttered munchkins wade through at least two cycles.
The only problem really was that after they were Simonized© they were slippery cusses!
All in all they liked it more than taking a bath.
