msdoc, My son, a 2007, has attended a PG ID Showcase and the Sunshine East last year. I don't know if there will be as many scouts at the Academic as the Sunshine East, but I expect that there will be some different schools represented that didn't attend the Sunshine East. Good luck to your son. PG does a great job with their events and I expect this showcase to be no different in that regard.
My son attended the PG Academic last Monday and Tuesday and, in my opinion, this was a top-flight event. It was hot and very humid in Ft. Myers, but the sun was out which wasn't the case for those attending the Sunshine East the 2 days prior. We got lucky with the weather. The representation of schools was very impressive and most coaches and recruiters were more than willing to discuss their schools, academic requirements and other relevant questions. If the inagural event held last year had 50 players, this year it drew 150. As I have found previoulsy, the PG staff, and it is large, knows how to run an event smoothly and the games went off pretty much as scheduled.

I thought the running track may have been a bit slow with all the rain that the area has sustained, but the fields were in fantastic condition.

PG, once again I feel we got what we paid for and to see so many top academic institutions present is really to your credit.
