When my son went to the PG Natl. Underclass showcase there were NO colleges there. It is in December which is (or at least was) a dead period so no colleges were allowed. We didn't find that out until we had spent a lot of money to get there. Check to see if it is a dead period. The Natl wood bat tournament in October is the one you want to go to. 100s of coaches attend.
We had the same choice last year, my son is a 2010.
We chose the World because his travel team wanted him there instead. So I guess really we didn't choose. Smile

Both are invite only events with I believe 80 teams so your chances are limited to be able to go. If you have the option to pick either your son must be a good player. I don't think it makes that much difference which event you attend but if he can go to the World he should attend IMO.

We are going again even though my son is committed to a college to enjoy the experience one last time. As far as who the scouts are looking at I would guess that 3/4 or more of the Seniors(10s) are done so the pro scouts are watching them and the colleges are on the Juniors(11s). Also, last year looking at the rosters I would say there were as many Juniors as Seniors at the event. PG STAFF may expand on this.

If your are talking about college scouts they will be looking for 2011's at the big WWBA World in Jupiter as most large schools will have most of their 2010's already.
Even if college scouts aren't at the PG underclassmen showcase, they will look at profiles. 2B (2011) sent out letters to prospective coaches in June, with his summer schedule and a link to his PG profile. The eval from a D1 "prospect camp" that he attended this summer was almost verbatim.

I have heard the same about Jupiter vs. Ft. Myers, and know that some players in 2B's organization, as juniors and even sophomores, have earned major interest at Jupiter, and it has led to early verbal commitments (these were pretty remarkable players). I think we'll probably go to both. I can't wait to get going again.
