We attended this event last weekend. It was mofireman son's first PG experience. We decided to attend after I realized how many on this site had good things to say about the organization.

So I will point out a few things that I noticed first hand...Things seemed to be really organized throughout the weekend from start to finish. Personally, I thought it would have been a little bit better attended by college coaches, scouts, or recruiting coordinators. I actually sat amidst the more obvious group of coaches and they were maybe 8-10 strong. Looked like most of them were lower tier colleges being represented. I guess I figured since it was a "Top Prospect" event that it would be somewhat better attended. This isn't a SLAM on PG at all, just an observation of mine. It also seemed that those players who were pitcher's were the ones being talked to at the end of the games. I'm not surprised by this at all, just pointing out what I saw. Congrats to Cedar Rapids on having a great facility in Veteran's Stadium. That is a wonderful ballpark to watch a few baseball games in.

In closing, I'll just say that I do plan to sign 2010 son up for additional PG events in the future. Overall, we were both pleased with the overall event. Son hit a deep double off the LF wall and ended up 2 for 5 on the weekend. Also made a great diving stop and subsequent throw from 3B to record an out in the first game. Dad was in the stands smiling from ear to ear.

Great event!

Having attended this event in the past, my best advice would be to tell you to not be suprised if college coaches, scouts, or recruiting coordinators, who weren't physically in attendence at the event, get in touch with PG and request information/video on participants. Wink

Veteran's Stadium,....pretty cool, ain't it!
