Thinking of doing the same. It looks like the only difference between the Main event and session 3 in early January (except number of kids and I assume scouts) is the Top Prospect games on a third day in the Main event. Is that correct? How does the Top Prospect thing work? Do they just pull the kids at the event who are evaluated as top prospects and play extra games and/or kids who are there who are already on the top prospect list and the rest of the kids are done early?

Also, received the filer from PG in the mail today and it specifically says pitchers will be evaluated during the games but does not say whether position players are to me implying (maybe unintentionally)that the position player evaluation is really the workout day and the games would of course be viewed by scouts but not part of the PG evaluation for position players. Is that correct?

Just trying to make decisions and make the most of limited resources as to which one to attend. Would likely go to a specific college's prospect camp Jr. is interested in over the holiday week and then go to the session 3 event in early January.

Appreciate any insights.
icanhit,

Everything that happens (workout and games) becomes part of the evaluation.

The top prospect game is played after all games have been completed. Players are selected after their last scheduled game based on the workout and the games.

While there are always players there that are highly ranked beforehand, every year there are many very talented players we see for the first time.

BTW, Top players standout at any event, no matter how many players attend. The two events are done more as a scheduling option for players.
