The batter hits against live pitching in a cage/tunnel. Each batter gets multiple ABs aginst a pitcher(s) who is showcasing his pitching talent so both batter and pitcher are being evaluated at the same time. Catchers will call the simulated game so the batter doesn't know what is being thrown. Bottom line is there are no fielders/ position players obviously. They may even start the batter with 1-1 count to speed things along. Hope that makes sence.

Just my opinion... I think this is a good time/ for a high school sophomore to go to a PG event. The sooner you can get a 3d party evaluation from a reputable organization like PG, the sooner you can start setting realistic goals for your son's future in baseball. The best advice given to me...upon arrival check my D1 ego at the door.
Mathews & VHS thanks for your responses. I have zero experience with this and no time to come down a learning curve. I want to be sure to do my part to provide him the opportunity to be successful while at the same time balancing getting the most for money spent. What I mean by that is not starting before time is right.. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again.
I am really of two minds on these types of events. If there is a good enough showing of colleges etc. then it can be a good thing. If not then...

From my experience there is absolutely nothing that can replace getting your son into a quality program that markets his abilities properly. At the end of the day if your son has talent and is on a team that shows in front of the right folks and has a coach who works hard to promote him then THAT is what will get him to the next level. Not a PG event...
