I was trying to make arrangements to get my RHP 2011 grad to the dec national underclass showcase in fl. but now also received an invite to the mid atlantic showcase in nj. He hasnt been to a PG showcase yet, just a PG wood bat tournament this summer in east cobb. Is there any advantage to attending the florida national showcase over the nj mid atlantic showcase because we live in ny and travel to nj would be alot easier.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

Some advantages of going to the NJ event are travel costs and it will probably have scouts there, not a quiet or dead period like the National Event. My son played at a number of tournaments at the new Diamond Nation facility this past summer and there where usually a good number of scouts from the northeastern schools present. He was definatly recruited out of there. Another factor for a pitcher is he may be more in game shape now vs. the end of December. JMHO.
