PG National Underclass

We are, and I know JBBaseball and his son are going, too.

And we're all driving! Call me crazy, but the holiday air fares were just too much! And in the end, you only save a few hours each way.

My son and I are going down as well. Im taking another player on my HS team too. Like MidloDad there was no way I was going to pay those prices to fly. Hopefully I will get to meet some of the HSBBW family while I am down there. There seems to be quite a few coming. It should be fun.

I know what you mean about the airfares. It was outrageous. I think they were around $500 round trip for one person. We thought about driving down too but after thinking it over we decided to pass on it this year. My son is an 09 so we still have next year. Good luck to you guys and have a safe drive.

Coach May- based on your postings (which are VERY good) would like to try and meet you and your son.......

The first day is probaly the best day since all the kids will be there for the pro style work out. After that the games begin and the kids get split up on teams. Maybe we can meet while the kids are warming up to run the 60 since Im sure that will be the first thing they do. How about pick a spot to meet at the field on the first day? Any thought on this?

May I suggest the following:
Let's meet by the tower which sits between the 4 main fields. You can't miss it.
Registration starts at 9AM. The 60 starts at 10. I will plan on being there at 9:30AM.
Plus I will go out on a limb and hold a sign that says:

"HSBBW'er"

Just a quick note to those who may be looking to attend the PG National Underclass Showcase next year, don't forget to look into flights into Fort Lauderdale, for example, and then take your rental car across the Everglades--it really doesn't take that long and the costs (we found) were well worth the slightly inconvenient drive. In addiiton, we did a little sight-seeing while on the east coast of Florida and had a great day on our way back home. It's just another option and flights out of DC area airports were reasonable if purchased ahead of time (compared to flying into Fort Myers). In any case, if you are a junior, look seriously at attending this showcase event--it will give you a great guage as to where you stand against your peers and just how hard you will have to work to set yourself apart. Enjoy--and continue to work hard!
