What position(s)?

I’m no expert and this is just from limited experience… Expect a well-organized event, but also a lot of standing around and/or leaving early. He will be standing around waiting for his turn during workouts. After that, you won’t even have to show up unless his team is playing. Don’t know this one, but some Underclass don’t get many scouts. If you’re not prepared for all of that, it might surprise you. It’s not like a camp where everyone is busy.

He will be videotaped at all of the positions where he chooses to work out, and that video will go on his public profile. He’ll only get a few reps, so he needs to be ready to perform. Wood bats only. Guessing his 60 will be in cleats on grass. Throwing velo is measured for all positions. He should make good throws, but also needs to cut lose with a few for the gun.

PG may be able to explain how they come up with their rating. From what I’ve observed, they start with the numbers. If he’s a 2015 RHP throwing 90, he starts with a big score. Same with catcher pop-time. Numbers might be less important for position players, but a good 60 time is expected if he plays up the middle. Hitting is also important (for non-pitchers). I think they focus on the swing, but also contact and power boost the grade. Hustle and athleticism also boost the grade. For non-pitchers, seems like kids at or above 8.5 or 9 are usually exceptionally athletic.

He will also be evaluated during the games, so he has to make the most of every opportunity, and not be shy about volunteering to jump in.

The best advice is probably just to have fun. He’s young, and this isn’t going to make or break his “career”. Try not to coach him up, just let him find his way. The boys all have something in common, and most of them bond very quickly. Enjoy!
I loved the event! Took two son's in different years. Sure wish we could do it all again, it was a blast. Take your time to toroughly enjoy the experience! What fun we had all those years...

I wish I could have them all back!

Don't squander this opportunity with your son, some of the best moments of your life are about to unfold.
