not if your going to that school. the only reason to go to a showcase is to be seen/draw interest from schools.

If a player is committed and definitely plans on attending that school, the only reason to attend is if you are interested in impressing a large number of professional scouts who also attend this event.

This event has had over 100 players drafted in the top 10 rounds including several first round types in the past. Some of the first round picks include Chris Lubanski, Jeff Allison, Chad Billingsley, Rick Porcello, Chris Lambert, Jay Rainville, Mark Rogers, etc.

A few of the top college stars who went to that event are Anthony Ranaudo (LSU), Derek Deitrich (Ga. Tech), Matt Harvey (UNC), etc.

I would go to this link Northeast Top Showcase click on each year and then click on the various links for information.

It has been a very good event, but it is not for everyone. Many players have helped themselves and there are others who didn't. If you already have a college you're happy with and have no interest in professional baseball at this time... I would think twice about attending.
