I guess it depends what you're looking for. Concerning the draft a player should be on the radar of scouts and teams by now, for example in home visits are going on now. I'm all for PG it was a great benefit to my brother, but I don't think another showcase would benefit him that much more at this time. Now if you want to just play baseball and got the cash then go ahead and do it.
Woody Hayes was the football coach at Ohio State many years ago. He said the reason he didn't like the pass was three things could happen and two were bad (incomplete, interception). I would view continuing to showcase the same way. The good is if you want to be drafted. The bad is your future coach misunderstanding or worse, you play have an off weekend and the coach changes his mind before you sign your NLI.

If we are talking about the World Showcase... Many reasons for and against. Any message sent to your future college coach doesn't play. College coaches understand players.

There are other good reasons for attending, but that would only confuse people
