Does anyone know what the schedule is like for these showcases? I was thinking about taking my little guy just to watch. Just wondering what time we should show up and maybe what to expect. Do you think this is something an 8 year old boy would enjoy? He loves watching games, but I've never been to a showcase so I don't know what to expect.

Thanks in adavnce.

Tim,

I suggest looking at the schedule and showing up for just the games. Normal schedule: first day.
10:00 AM - 60 yard
Followed by
Outfielders field and throw
Infielders field and throw
1st Basemen field and throw
Catchers Pop times
Batting Practice
First game is usually early in the afternoon - about 1:00 PM
Nothing but games after that
I'd say take your young son about 1:00 PM or later, unless you think he might be interested in watching the other stuff.
Tell him to ask the PG people for a baseball. Smile

Thanks PG,

He'll get into all of it. Thanks for the basic breakdown. That's very helpful. I asked because I was unable to get a schedule off of the site when I went to the link for this event. I may be doing something wrong.

From the sound of it I don't think it matters. It seems like there will be something going on all the time so he should have fun watching. I know he will want to watch the catchers work and the BP along with the games anyway.

Cute story about baseballs. The last UT game we attended a gentleman working for the school saw us coming in seeing Aidan with his glove. He asked him if he was going to catch a foul ball. Yes sir, he said. He told me to let him know if my boy didn't catch one. I said thanks and figured I probably wouldn't see this man again. As we left in a crowd of folks I felt a tug on my sleeve. The gentleman walked us over to the side and handed my boy a game worn ball telling him it must have snuck by all the other folks going after fouls. This one was meant for you son. Little things mean a lot and it's nice of you to think of that. We've found ourselves going to a lot more games after that day. It meant a lot to the kid and it just flat made his dad feel good about being there.
