My son plays for a program that has several age group teams. We are going to the PG 16u Nationals in mid-July but, was asked at the last minute to play with the 15u team starting Friday because he is still age eligible and they are short arms. He is not on the roster and I would like for his new arm velocity to get linked to his current PG profile. I e-mailed the I.T. guy at PG but he still doesn't appear on the roster. Should I just wait to the tourney?

I have a similar issue...they got my sons first name wrong...totally different name...I am sure it was just a typo as they used the kid with the same name right above him...so they both have the same first name...its not a huge deal but would like it to be accurate...Coach said he cant fix it right now but would make sure its right on the final roster when we play...I have sent a PM to pgstaff but I am sure he is busy

For a lot of us, the showcase coach is as intimidating as the tournament director.

I wouldn't know about the coaches, but I hope no one is ever intimidated by our tournament directors.

All rosters are entered directly to the database by the coach or someone else associated with the team.

We actually want the information to be correct.
Intimidating was the wrong word choice. Just not wanting to be bothersome for something that is clerical or an easy fix which I have to imagine happens a lot with all the similar names, towns or in our case, last minute roster additions. I am sure it is a difficult blend on how much ability you give the user to change things on their web profile and still keep honest and correct information. Just trying to be helpful.
SouthGeorgia,

I appreciate your helpfullness.

While the team coaches are responsible for entering player information, we understand that info is sometimes inaccurate.

There are two ways, in addition, to the coach to get the info correct. The rosters are printed directly from the database. When the rosters are submitted a player profile is established on the PG site.

Search for the player by last name or full name at the search function (top right hand of page) Once you find the profile page, you should see in Quote Box, right above his name, (Is this you?) Click on that and see what happens. The system is set up to allow changes by the player.

If that fails for some reason, you can contact us and we can make the changes for you. email - staff@perfectgame.org

I will admit that I don't do any of this myself, because I would most likely screw something up. Please don't think of any of this as being bothersome. We want the info to be correct, so you're doing us a favor, as well as your son. It's important because more people use our site for recruiting and scouting than any site out there.

FYI, one of the top recruiting sites out there is talked about a lot on this website. Of course they are a recruiting site for all sports. Truth is, we actually get more traffic than they do and we only do baseball. This can be confirmed by checking Alexa.com. Plus we, by far, have the most players that are actually talented. I think that kind of shows where college coaches and scouts look for players. Of course, we already knew that a long time ago.

Best of luck to your son

Clearly Perfect Game stands alone for baseball. Often college coaches will reference recruits by their rank in PG. Like, "we have 3 pitchers ranked in the top 500 by PG coming in this year", or something to that effect. Maybe it is just here in the southeast but, there isn't anything even remotely close to PG in website reference/visability. I guess there is something called Impact Baseball (I think) that is also referenced in North Carolina. In Florida and Georgia, its Perfect Game.
