How did he grade out?

He received a 6.5. Going in I figured he was a 7. He performed terribly in games, and throws were much worse than usual, no carry, reduced velo. Regardless, the score is fair imho for what the scout saw. We were thinking of going in June and workout as MIF. Not sure though.

It is interesting that they pointed out a rotational swing...what was the complete statement about the bat?

Right handed hitter, rotational swing, line drive swing, looks to pull, handles the barrel well, consistent square contact, will benefit from more strength as a hitter.

That is a good hitting report. I see only good descriptive terms in that report.

How was his 60? And how big is he?

Catching any Redfish?

5'8" 160. Ran a 7.32, OF velo was 74, but has hit 77 in the past. Nerves and cold (30 degrees)got to him during OF throws. I wasn't sure if the report was good considering the 6.5. If he had hit (at all) in the games, I think it would have showed he could handle the wood better and would've had maybe a 7. I'm pleased overall considering his rough start.

I'm not a big fisherman, so I can't speak to the redfish question. I fish on rare occasion. Used to do a lot more when I was younger (salt water)

First year mine went he was pretty nervous and was rated a 7. Next time out 2 years later he improved to a 9.

In the event that you are interested in excellent instruction for fielding and hitting I can offer a recommendation. Not too close, but about the same distance I drove with my son.
