Just got back from the PG Underclass Showcase in Winston Salem NC. My son (2014) has attended many PG events in the past and we have always been happy with their events. I have always "pushed" PG to new parents because of their unbiased rankings. I am tired of the "politics" and "who you know" nonsense that seems to occur in alot of places. PG stands alone in my opinion where you will get an honest evaluation.

My feelings have not changed towards PG but after this last showcase some "warts" were visible. The boys started with their 60yd times. It was raining so the times were higher than normal. Everyone on my sons team all said their times were higher. Two months ago at a different showcase it was raining. On my sons evaluation it was noted that his 60 time was good considering the wet conditions. Hopefully PG will do the same. We will wait and see. This of course was not a "wart" but something I hope they will note on their evaluations.

My son is a corner player, with his biggest asset being hitting. They "played" 2 games on saturday that were either going to be 5 or 6 innings. Their games were later on in the day. Their first game started an hour after it was supposed to. We guessed that the earlier games ran late (some how).
The batting order was based on your jersey number, my sons number was high. Their 2 games were stopped after 5 innings, so my son had 1 at bat in each game. Not sure why they just did not play 1 more inning. There were 2 other kids on his team that only had 2 at bats.

Sunday it was raining, so all games were canceled. They were told to come and take bp in the cage which was covered. There were scouts or PG reps watching bp. They watched the first 2 or 3 teams, then as soon as my sons team went to hit, they left. My son at least asked the guy that was throwing bp how he did. He told him he had a very good swing and mechanics. I am hoping that due to his limited swings, they will get some of his input. That is why I would have thought that someone from PG would be there to watch bp.

His PG account still has his height and weight that he was back in December. When he signed up for this showcase he filled out the form with his correct height and weight. I am thinking because he ran the same 60 time (in wet conditions) as back in Dec and they see the same height and weight, they will think there was no improvement.

Not sure if this is right place to post this, feel free to move it.

wedge,

It is possible there was a mistake. However, you won't get it corrected without contacting us. It's not like we want to make mistakes.

How would anything change in 24 hours if we didn't know there was a mistake? Most of the notes on players are never seen by anyone but us. those notes are used to grade and do a player report. That process takes place over several weeks rather than 24 hours.

PGSTAFF, I took your advice and sent an e-mail. I hope they will correct it. I gave them my contact info so if they have any questions they can call. I think the error happened because they batted out of order. It was an honest mistake.
I agree with you about the last bp in the cage. They could not have known there was a mistake. Sorry about that.
