I am a new member and have enjoyed reading all of the various comments on this site. My son has gotten an invite to his first showcase this Aug.(16-18), and we are very excited about the chance to showcase his talents with other ball players his age (15). We hope this will be the first of many to come, wish us luck. After it's all said and done with, I hope we leave with positive feelings from the experience.

Thanks for the support. It's going to be difficult over the next few years, seeing that I am a currently working overseas, so if anyone has any advice or pointers on how I can get my son the maximum amount of exposure the next few years I would appreciate it, I am sure this is just the beginning of a long journey ahead.
my advice would be to go to as many perfect game showcases as possible, they run things great over there, and i have to credit them with all the exposure i have, cus even though i was throwing in the 90's last summer, before i went to them i was relatively unknown, their are tons of scouts at their events and they do a very good job of organizing them, and they usually have their events at really nice fields. but as far as exposure for the price, i would say they are your best bet. check out their website:

I will keep updated on our experience. I think it is not to early to get your son exposed early, at least you will find out where he stands with his peers. We live overseas and it has been awhile since I have seen this age group play, so for us it is a no brainer. Right now I can only go to the player profiles from different PG showcases and review there performances and compare my son's and see where he matches up. We were looking at them last night and now he feels alittle more comfortable that he can compete with kids two years older than himself at that level.
rc,
The term underclassman can refer to 9th,10th, 11th grade.
Showcasing, if you prefer that method of exposure really doesn't mean a whole lot unless it is between junior summer and senior fall, possibly spring. I say spend more effort on schoolwork and SAT preparation. JMO
