Hi there! Anyone have any information about Piedmont College in Georgia? I want just wondering if anyone in the hsbballweb community has had any experience with the school, and they they thought about it in general. I'm looking for a strong D3 and would like to go down south if at all possible. A coach on Piedmonts staff is a former player for my current coach, and he said he could put me in front of the coaches and help get me in. Anyways, thanks for the help in advance!

Can't tell you much about the program other than they play a very competitive D3 schedule.

Have you checked their roster?  This might be where there could be lots of questions:

I am not sure what that roster means but I don't think I have seen one like it.

If you are a solid/good player with very good grades, there could be opportunities at the D3 level in the South. Look at the SAA and SCAC conferences. Very good academics and some of the top teams in D3 baseball(Rhodes, Millsaps, Trinity for instance are near the very top in D3 baseball).

Thank you infielddad for the reply. Obviously I came here because people, such as yourself, are much more knowledgable about schools down south and the recruiting process in general than I am! I took a look at the roster and school academics of Piedmont and it seems like a great school, but I plan on exploring the conferences you mentioned. Again, thanks for the reply

Went there for a tournament my son played in a few years ago. Nice covered seating area for the stadium. Unique in that it looks like a pavilion or stage cover from a distance. Small college, small town. There was a girls soccer game going on beside of us and there was a small crowd of parents and students. Kind of had a high school feel.

Side note from that tourney. One of our parents ended up in a conversation with a random guy at the concession stand who was very drunk. After our game finished, we saw him getting dressed for the next game.... Home plate ump.

Back to the college. I liked it. Nice baseball field and facilities that have had a recent renovation. Indoor hitting cages and baseball offices, locker rooms, players area, etc... Classrooms and dorms were older and looked dated.

Large roster probably means they don't cut and have a J.V. team - enrollment driven.
