I agree with TR, Go play OF and then Pitch.
You get more bang for the Buck.
Other wise you just pitch with no AB.
There's only so much time at a showcase, to fit all the player's in.
If you go as an OF you will only get 1 Inning to Pitch, Usually.
If you go as a Pitcher, Possible 3 Inning's.
But then your done.
If you Attend more then one showcase than you can split it up.
If you want to pitch in College go to the College Camp of your choice and show them how you pitch. That's a good way to get the Coaches to see you. the EH
So generally speaking, if you go as a Pitcher could you opt to do some OF and Hitting, as it seems you can opt to not do the 60? Or do you just pitch?

I guess I could see some pitchers being able to show that aspect better over a longer stint than just one inning. Or am I assuming something that I shouldn't?

Conversely, if you go as an OF you can sign up to pitch an inning? Are these guys taken as seriously as someone who just goes to pitch?

Sorry for these rather dumb questions, but this is pretty new to me.

Not dumb questions at all !!

Here is what we do which is a bit different than some other showcase events

01-- players can play as many positions as they choose--there is no extra cost as is with some others events--some won't let you play more than two positions and you are charged extra to play two positions--the player has to make a choice--some do not even give the player the option

02-- On our registration form we ask the players for 3 positions in the order of what they mean to the player--if pitcher is # 1 they get first shot on the mound in the games--the players who have pitcher as 2nd or 3rd position get the second go round--thus we have the kids playing what they deem their best positions first and then rotate into the others--with three 7 inning games this gives them all ample time to show their stuff-- and there are never more than 15 players on each team

Hope that this helps you
